Topic Idea!!!!!!!

Mere minuts after posting that last post, I had a brainwave. I recently bought a book (I had to order it since it is possibly out of print) called "Everything I Know About Writing" by John Marsden. At the back, it has 600 writing topics, including exercises to help with your writing... you see where I'm heading? Each post, I'll try one of the exercises. And it doesn't really matter if no one reads them (because not many will), because it's just good practise for me...
Although some of them do look hard... oh well. I'll have a go. Sorry if I am terrible at them all...

Also, you can have a go if you want. just put it in your comment. Along with all those conversation topics I am likely to still need, when I get sick of this :p

Number One
What is your favourite kitchen appliance, and why?

Hmm... probably toaster. It's the appliance I use the most and makes a nice variation to bread. I prefer toast to bread, unless its a salad or meat sandwich... Also, it has different settings, which is always nice. Choice and variety is good...
I also like the barmix, because I make banana or mango smoothies with it. Yum!

So, there you go. A pretty simple one to start, but have a go anyway!

Hello Again

Ok. I just looked at my blog, for perhaps the first time since i wrote the last post at Easter, and realised what a horrible last post it was to have. Sorry Emily! I don't hate you, nor not want to talk to you! And I totally take back what I said about/to you... love you!

Now, the question is: what should I talk about now? Reading back, my previous posts offer no inspiration what so ever. Although, i would like to express my disappointment at Millie, for not making "a stupid, and totally unrelated comment on your old posts every week, and not talk to you at school until you do" as promised. Very disappointed.

Apart from that, once again I am simply writing this blog to put off the inevitable work have to do... really floundering for a topic here... HELP!!!!!!

Gah. I give up. If you have any suggestions, pray tell. Just put them in a comment. And I might think about talking about them.

Just a Moment...

I'd just like to take a moment to let Emily know that, at the moment, Millie and I, and maybe Jenny, are not talking to her. No need to explain why.

Also, Happy Easter everyone!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope everyone has an awesome holiday, and maybe I'll see you during it...

Nothing else to say really, except to once again express how much of of an awful teacher Mr Perkins is. Who gives a topographic skills worksheet/quiz on the second last period of the term??????????????????? At least he marked our booklets nicely, despite the fact we hardly did anything in them...

Sorry it's so short, but you know I can never think of anything to say...

Oh, the Joy of One Hour

I would just like to take a moment to comment on the nice feeling a person is privy to, once a year, when you look at a clock and realise it is, in fact, an hour earlier than you expect it. Although this year, it has simply meant an extra hours sleep, in the past it has aided me muchly in an assignment. How is everyone else enjoying their extra time?

Also, as I told Millie I would put it in, a quote from beach sports last Wednesday, a particular dreary excursion to Merewether Beach:
Millie: The foamy stuff reminds me of whale blubber
Sophie: See what I mean about the seals? (I had previously remarked that it reminded me of seals) You know how they’re always just lying there (in Antarctica), and the quivering is from their fat wobbling.

The next day at Stockton more seals were rolling up the beach.

That’s all for now… except one week til Easter!!!!! And only one more week of term…

Earth Hour

For all of you who don’t know it, tonight, from 8:30 to 9:30, is Earth Hour. Because we all want to save the planet, everyone should turn off all their lights (NB it is not really about saving electricity – just turning off your lights for one hour won’t really help, it’s about awareness and sending a message and getting into habits to not use as much energy). So, if you haven’t already signed up, go to http://www.earthhour.org/home/, and then turn your lights off for one hour tonight. And, so you have a fun time in the dark this evening, a few things you can do there…
Þ Share stories around a fire
Þ Take the dog for a night walk
Þ Play hide and seek in the garden
Þ Gather family and friends for a picnic under the stars
Þ Have dinner by candlelight
Þ Play truth or dare
Þ Think of other exciting things to do…
And have a good time, saving the Earth!!!

Well, I hope that was enlightening… and also, to all those of you present at tennis, daylight saving does NOT end this weekend, but at 3:00 am next Sunday. Last year they changed the dates, so that there was extra daylight saving…

Goodbye all, must get back to my science assignment, I’m sure it’s missing me more than I it. And don’t forget – lights out at 8:30!

Don't You Just Love Technology...

Don't you just love the way websites take so long to load? here i am, trying to do my work, and it's just being uncooperative. So rude. Instead, while I wait, I have decided to write a blog post. Because to work on science and english at once would be too much for my poor brain to cope with...
Back to the subject of loading websites... you then find that the html version of the article is exactly the same, you still can't see the pictures!!!!!!! Does anyone know how to see the pictures on ebsco host? Please tell!!!!!!!!!!
GUESS WHAT EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S OUT OF UNIFORM TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!! Big whoop, I know. Still, it's different. And i had to remind someone (unfortunately Siobhan doesn't read this post...). What are we all wearing? :p It's ok, I don't really want to know that much.
So... I am really bad at finding things to talk about on this thing... I don't have Emily's awesome rambling skills :p. I spose i could write a story like Millie... but that would take too long. i can never finish them very well anyway...
Have to go eat dinner, catch ya's all l8r... :p

I get the feeling i should be somewhere else right now...

hello again! would you look at that. another post!

Anyway... do you ever sit down at your desk, or at the computer desk (which might be the same thing), ready to do all that work you have waiting for you, when all of a sudden you're checking your email, writing a blog post, checking and commenting other peeps blogs, and other random things (like playing minesweeper)? and then, just when you've run out of things to do, and are feeling very tired and daunted by the work a head of, you start thinking about that really good book you're currently reading, and surely 15 more minutes wouldn't hurt? yea... that's happeneing to me now. despite having two assignments, two tests and SAC homework, i have spent the entire afternoon/ evening reading and blogging. oops. and then, on the weekend, i was all "i'm going to get stuck into it today!" but i never really did... i pretty much do my homework, but i just get stuck when it comes to starting assignments. they're so time consuming!

so, thanks for listening to my rant, which was probably not at all interesting, now i'm just going to check my email, have a shower, violin practice, read one more chapter, then get stuck into science... wait a minute, my phone just went off. brilliant!

oh, and to all those people that went to guys and dolls, hope you had fun, wish i was there :(
although nothing beats getting wet at beach sports... which happened to take place at the train sheds. don't ask. but i would NOT have minded missing geography... scarred for life
